George Prior

Prior, George, son of John.  Born 1782 in Nessfiled, England
and can be found in London after 1822.  Mr. Prior was one of
the premier fusee makers of the era.  Producing watches
especially for the Turkish market.  He received two awards
from Soc. Arts for his 3 case watch S.M.S.K. and for
Tortoise shell and ormolu br. clock S.K.M.

His 3 case watch had an outer case of wood inlaid silver with
oriental chased case.  He also produced a watch with pierced
steel outer case eng, with excerpts from the Koran.
