French Polish Dissolve 8 oz./225g shellac, 1/4 oz./7g of benzoin and 1/2 oz./15g sandarac to 2 pints/1 liter of high quality denatured alcohol (methylated spirits). If you find and use "methylated finish" or "methylated spirit white shellac" leave out the 1/2 oz./15g of sandarac. Mix everything in a large tinted glass jar and let it dissolve. Shake well before using. French Polish Reviver One part linseed oil, one part clear furniture polish and one part denatured alcohol (methylated spirits). Place in a screw top jar and shake well. OR Take four parts linseed oil, one part turpentine (for drying) and two parts white vinegar. Mix and shake well. Either of these can be used as often as necessary. The above information comes from reading through the book "How to Restore & Repair Practically Everything" by Lorraine Johnson. Regards, Tim Sweet Member NAWCC/BHI Timekeepr2@aol.com M.O.S.T.
