Lange, F.A. - Glashuette (Saxonia) Germany First registered a trade marke in 1868 under the name Adolf Lange and sons Emil and Richard. The Lange family produced pocket watches of premier quality. Original trade mark was a belt with Glashuette printed in side the belt on the top and with A. Lange & Son in the center. OLIW - Glashutte-Dresen by A. Lange & Sohne in Glashutte (Saxonia) Germany. The A. Lange & Shone enterprise introduced to the watchmaker/ jeweller the 'OLIW" type pocket watch, manufactured and distributed under "OLIW Glashutte". This watch incorporated all the technical features of the "A. Lange & Sohne" watch, except the design was simplified and the case came in silver, stainless steel, nickel allow and "Gold Double" (two plates of gold with another alloy in between or better know as rolled gold or gold filled). This was an attempt to sell watches that were affordable to the general public. The trade marke was a belt with the buckle at the bottom left and "Glashutte-Dresden" printed in side the belt on the top. In the middle was "OLIW". OLIW stood for Original Lange International Watch. It was registered in 1921 but used from 1919 to 1925. Watches and parts, tools and special fixtures or the discriminating watchmaker were also produced.
