George Holloway, 128 Minories, London England. Patek Geneva trade mark registered 11.01.1876. Manufactured of clocks and watches. The trade mark was used 15 years before January 1876. Another trade mark used was his last name only. No information is available for the type of clock or watches made if in fact any were actually produced. The company changed names several times. Two of the changes were "Ansonia-Brass Clock Co." registered 19.05.1880 and Holloway & Co. Clock Manufacturer. The date for the later is approximately 1884 and the company was advertised as "Importer of American Goods". One other trade mark used by Holloway Co. between 1842 and 1883 was the letters "H & Co." and a crown which was used both on movements and cases. Holloway used movements made by E. N. Welch (U.S.), Enfield Clock Co. (British), New Haven Clock Co. (U.S.) and Seth Thomas (U.S.). Although once calling itself Ansonia - Brass Clock Co. no relationship has been noted of use of U.S. Ansonia movements, even though Ansonia had several office located in London and registered three trade marks in England including the "PEEP O'DAY" trade mark. One reference to the Holloway Company states it sold "Typical Anglo-American Clocks". All Holloway cases were British made. George Holloway is not listed in Baillie's nor Loomes' "Watchmaker and Clockmakers of the World".
