Charles Fasoldt Watch Co. Rome, NY 1849-1861 Albany, NY 1861-1887 Charles Fasoldt came to the US in 1848. One of his first watches. Serial No. 26, was for General Armstrong and was an eight-day movement. At about the same time he made several large regulators and a few pocket chronometers. He displayed some of his work at fairs in Utica and Syracuse and received four First-Class Premiums and two diplomas. In 1850, he patented a mircometric regulator (generally called the Howard Regulator because Howard bought the patent). He also patented a Chronometer escapement in 1859-1865, a watch regulator in 1864, and a hairspring stud in 1877. He was also know for this tower clock, for which he received many awards and medals. He made about 500 watches in Albany and about 50 watches in Rome. From 1855-1864 he made a Series I Key wind, 1/2 plate serial # from 5-40. In 1865-1868 was Series II, Key wind, bar movement the serial #'s 41-330. Finally in 1868-1878 he created Series III, Stem wind, bar movement with serials numbers 331-540.
